“God is in the details.”
This is true in Nature and The Arts. Within the context of Architecture,
details elevate a simple structure into one that inspires. At Tim
Cuppett Architects much attention is placed on the design of the details;
their consistency within a project creates a hierarchy that organizes
the entire structure. Details provide dramatic punctuation or become
a quite back drop. Proper coordination makes the difference between
harmony and cacophony.
Here are a variety of examples ranging from the graceful
curve of a bronze railing to a forged iron chandelier hanging between
hand hewn wooden beams. Custom furniture and light fixtures compliment
a room. Both subtle and focal lighting sources highlight materials
in order to accentuate their natural beauty.
Shapes play off of each other as though they are in
dialog. Moldings and lines travel around a room to create a single
cohesive composition, subtle to the eye yet delightful to the soul.
Details work together so that “the whole is greater than the
sum of its parts...”
