TIMOTHY DANE CUPPETT, AIA, IIDA

My firm, Tim Cuppett Architects was established in 1997 with the desire
to focus on intimate design and detail-oriented projects. I love the
scale and creativity required of residential, retail, restaurant and
commercial office assignments. Whether working independently, or as
part of a larger team, the integration and continuity of interiors with
the exterior envelope and site is an important feature of our work.
I am a member of the American Institute of Architects and the International Interior Design Association. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, School of Architecture where I received a rich education in Architectural history, design, and a love for drawing and painting. After an internship in San Francisco, I have had the luxury of residing and practicing in Austin for two decades. In addition to my practice, I volunteer and participate with the local chapter of the AIA as well as serve the City as a member of the Austin Landmark Commission.
On a more personal note, I have had the joy of watching two sons grow into brilliant young men; and I have good friends. Pictured here with me is my Scottish chum Iain Findlay. Based in the U.K., Iain works on planning and environmental assignments for under-developed regions of the world. To his right is Marco Rini, my best, crazy Sicilian friend. Marco is a landscape designer in Austin after studying Garden Design at Oxford, England. For years friends and family have enjoyed this winter wonderland, which will soon be a memory only, as the snow behind us is fast melting.
From my first internship
to annual trips abroad, travel is the medium from which I learn the
most. A good part of my continuing
education comes from experiencing other places and people. Architectural
solutions based
on regional geography, climate, and culture contribute to a most excellent
world. We all want the same things, differences are only on the surface.
